The Officer Risk & Compliance is employed within the Risk & Compliance Department and reports directly to the Manager Risk & Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and discuss reinsurance applications in accordance with reinsurance guidelines and the applicable authorization (mandate) matrix
• Review, analyse, and interpret reinsurance terms, conditions, and clauses
• Advise internal departments on risk acceptance related to reinsurance applications
• Discuss recommendations from inspectors and/or medical advisors with the Manager Reinsurance
• Perform risk management activities in line with the organization’s risk management policy
• Assist in preparing portfolio overviews of treaty and other reinsurance policies
• Assist in preparing treaty analysis reports in support of the renewal of various treaties
• Conduct correspondence with brokers and/or reinsurers
• Prepare template quotations, policies, invoices, and receipts for the Policy Administration Department in relation to new applications, amendments, and cancellations
• Verify processed reinsurance applications, premium calculations, quotations, policies, and portfolio and amendment reports
• Prepare additional monthly accounting reports and discuss these with the direct supervisor
• Ensure proper, accurate, and orderly filing and maintenance of records and documentation

• Bachelor’s level education, supplemented with advanced insurance technical knowledge
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written

• Extensive knowledge of insurance products and policy conditions
• Thorough understanding of reinsurance processes and related procedures
• Solid legal knowledge relevant to insurance and reinsurance
• Strong commercial awareness
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong reporting and documentation skills
• Extensive experience with and knowledge of relevant automated insurance systems
